Just a reminder that the 5K/Fun Run is Sat., Oct. 1. Anita could use a few more volunteers for the day of the event. If you can help please contact her at purserfamily4@suddenlink.net.
If you would like to participate in either the 5K or the Fun Run you can still sign up at the Washington Park waterfront that morning ($25/person including t-shirt). For more info see the blog or the www.wmpcs.org website.

Reduce, reuse, recycle: water bottles. napkins, spoon/fork
In order to use fewer paper products in the classroom Mrs. Murray has suggested the following tips for packing your child's lunch:
1. Send a water bottle to school with your child to reduce the amount of paper cups used (stainless is great).
2. Pack a napkin (cloth if you like) and needed silverware/plastic ware with your child for lunch to reduce the number of napkins and plastic ware used.
Thanks so much for helping us to reduce, reuse, and recycle!

Kids Fest: Volunteers Needed!
Dear parents,
Thank you to everyone who has already volunteered!
We would like every family to bring in a cake (or several mini cakes) for the cake walk. These cakes can be SMALL. You can make a few cupcakes, make 2 round single cakes, cut a rectangular cake in fours, etc. If you are already making a bigBlack Forest cake if you could put a tiny bit of the batter into a small pan for a mini give-away cake that would be appreciated.
Boys, please bring in a white t-shirt for your costume.
We still need someone to help with clean up and another person or 2 to make a bigblack forest cake if possible, but otherwise we're all set!
We need the following:
